Last month I completed work on an illustration for
lululemon athletica to hang in store in their new Bethesda Row location in Maryland. The illustration was designed to illustrate lululemon's manifesto while expressing the energy and playful vision of the company.
The piece is now up and hanging in the Bethesda store. A version of it is also at their Soho location in use as hoarding while their new store is under construction.
Examples of the piece are now up in my
illustration section under the name
LULULEMON | BETHESDA
Just got back from a month away in Scotland, Wales and Paris. Took a ton of photos for future paintings and managed to squeeze in a few watercolour sketches between wandering neolithic ruins and dodging falling hedgehog carrion in Orkney, and indulging in art, culture and croissants au chocolate in Paris. The results are in my
sketchbook section, labeled
TRAVEL SKETCHES 2008.
Looking for Loons has been included in the Canadian Children's Book Centre Best Books for 2008 list.
I've added some new work to the illustration section - two concept illustrations of signage/entrance ways for Del Mar Developments.
The newly re-designed version of kirstiwakelin.com went live today. Thanks to the tireless work of Arash Ramin of
jinnius Solutions Inc. for the web development side, I now have a brand spanking new site that works like a dream and is fun to update with its handy new admin panel.
Along with this site update,
my blog has also had a bit of a facelift (courtesy of Arash) to tie it in with my main site design.
